Movies Schmovies

{Home Theatre in Finland}

A client has chosen to add a home theatre...what a luxury!!

I'm a raging film buff so this is so up my alley. Not that I have one or that I know how to build one, but I know comfort and aesthetics. When it comes this category I so think like a man: "No such thing as a screen too big". Hmpf.

Of course we have an expert on board, but I'm having fun researching what's out there. And I'm getting so envious....oh, well.....someday or in my next life. Some friends recently bought an outdoor screen and they held a Vince Vaughn Movie Night last month. It inspired me and now I have one...have yet to find the time to throw a party to watch something fun and spectacular!

If you dream of a large screen or an in-home theatre, you'll enjoy the visuals!

Sigh....

{Ok, this guy is so out of control! CLick to enlarge and see the juice and gadgets going into this home set up....!}

{These next two are of a garage in Houston, TX that was transformed, along with the proud "parent"....}

Gee my outdoor theatre is starting to look humble and small!

Ok, on with the tour.....
For the Ultimate Star Wars buff (OH MY!)

For a client who wanted to bring the outdoors in...(Johnny Depp on the big screen in the comfort of your home....sigh again....)

And the creme de la creme of home theatres....prepare to gasp!

Ok...I like the last one the best. Movies outdoors...very drive-in(ish).

Fun to research though, isn't it?

Oh a luxury indeed! I would love to indulge in this and have parties surrounding a movies. I like the one that showed JDepp on the screen (Chocolat I believe). What fun. Lucky girl

Wow you really get to do all the fun part of designing and then some! As a budding designer/business woman, you are such an inspiration to me and my friends!! You are not locked into any one thing (just a shop owner, etc). Your gift baskets are so incredible and then I read the Letter From the Editor in the latest issue of Romantic Homes and SHE was gushing over your creations, too. Can't wait for you to get your home published-why are you relunctant?
Thanks for inspiring this young designer, kathy! I just love that you have all this stuff going on and you were generous with your time to give me a phone interview for my class project.

What a wonderful luxury. I would love to have friends over to throw a movie marathon party in our pajamas. But it won't be for me as I have a small NYC apt....I can dream

My favorite film is Casablanca :) Surely they'll let me in just for that!
I love those black leather chairs, too.
Thanks for your visit!

Okay, I don't have to have that last one. I just need to be their neighbor. What an exciting concept and design. Have fun with yours!

Lisa--You've got the BEST idea yet!
Never even thought that the best option would be to live next door to the side-building movie screen! You'd still have an amazing screen to view AND someone else would pay the electricity bill!!!!!!
