Mattress Springs Reborn

In my quest for green, eco-friendly mattresses for several clients, I've visited many, many warehouses where the experts have taken me from start to finish and back again in the mattress-making process. I've seen more mattress springs than I care to remember!

It got me to thinking of all the things that could be done with a mattress spring, besides the usual melting and recycling down of the metal.

LE BEFORE....

Enter my fabulously talented French Friend! He came up with a brilliant idea and I took it from there.

What a fun way to display items in a boutique or at a party!
Imagine the possibilities.....
..............photos....host a chili cook off or bake sale and post the recipes....table seat numbers at a party.......display of vintage French pages and papers will be our use at Vintageweave!

Love this...

My friend Joy used old springs in her antique booth at Expo as a "wall". Fabulous way to display ephemera or linens.

I have several friends that use springs to display items in their booths as well. I've also seen them hanging from the ceiling at shops with lights and dried flowers.

LUV it...have always been a fan of "wire-ware" of sorts for some reason. An also very tre-cool idea for vintage matress springs was for a headboard in a modern loft which had funky vintage touches about it..looked like art.

what a fun idea.
i like what angie wrote above to use it as a headboard in an otherwise modern space. Weren't you asked to do staging at the spec lofts in dwntn la? this would be a great look but I know you don't do modern but you could team up with someone who does and incorporate angie's idea and your amazing touches.Lisa

I'm inspired! What about succulents? Or a display or air plants? Ok...I'm off to find one and get to work on a display idea for a client at a local nursery here in No Cal!

Great ideas everyone--I guess I have just never seen this look before but it appears it has been used in many fun ways! Love the idea of fairy lights and dried flowers intertwined--oh my head is swirling for Christmas ideas already!

The idea of using it in a modern loft is FANTASTIC. I have many clients who are architects and they incorporate some of our antique or rusty items in their ultra-modern environments--FABULOUS!

And with succulents? Too great for a landscape or nursery display!

My friend brought the one you see from Northern France so some of the spring interlocks are a bit more twisted than the usual design.

Well, this is a first for me. Pretty creative I must say. Who would have ever thought to use it the way others on your blog suggested.
